Virtual Public Hearing Will be Held on Wednesday, March 27, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Somerville Community Preservation Committee is inviting residents to participate in shaping the future of their neighborhoods by providing input on potential projects to be funded by the Community Preservation Act (CPA) in the coming year. CPA in Somerville has a history of supporting a diverse range of initiatives, including rehabilitating playgrounds and schoolyards, making historic public buildings safe and handicapped accessible, building affordable housing, and supporting rental assistance. 

The second meeting will be virtual on Zoom on Saturday, March 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. 

The Union Square Neighborhood Council (USNC) is hosting two Community Benefit Agreement (CBA) Summits in regards to Rafi Properties’ Somernova project. The first, on Tuesday March 12, will be in person at the Argenziano School (290 Washington St, Somerville, MA. 02143) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The second meeting will be virtual on Zoom on Saturday, March 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

Shit-faced Shakespeare® is announcing its final production at The Rockwell Theater, crowd favorite Much Ado About Nothing.

After a 9-year successful run, Shit-faced Shakespeare is moving on. But before that, opening May 3 and running through June 22 at The Rockwell Theater at 7:00 p.m., Much Ado About Nothing.

For families interested in the SPS Community Schools afterschool program, the registration period begins March 19 at 9:30 a.m. and runs until March 28. This registration period is for all grades.

The small aluminum diner is at 113 Washington St. A deceased friend of mine lived next door and we met there for good eats. It was built in 1930 and is on the Somerville historical register. If you sit at the counter the seats are kind of low but work out well for me and my short legs! The decor is very vintage looking and welcoming. I asked my social media friends to share their comments about Buddy’s diner.

Join in on Zoom to vote to elect delegates who will go to the 2024 Massachusetts Democratic Convention, which will be held on June 1, 2024 at the DCU in Worcester, and will vote to re-nominate Senator Warren and on any amendments to the Democratic Party’s Charter or Bylaws as well as attend events sponsored by elected officials and progressive political groups.

On Thursday, March 14, at 7:00 p.m., Democrats from Wards 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 will convene at the Somerville High School Upper Cafeteria and elect delegates and alternates to represent each ward at the 2024 State Democratic Convention.
