Virtual Public Hearing Will be Held on Wednesday, March 27, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Somerville Community Preservation Committee is inviting residents to participate in shaping the future of their neighborhoods by providing input on potential projects to be funded by the Community Preservation Act (CPA) in the coming year. CPA in Somerville has a history of supporting a diverse range of initiatives, including rehabilitating playgrounds and schoolyards, making historic public buildings safe and handicapped accessible, building affordable housing, and supporting rental assistance.

The Union Square Neighborhood Council (USNC) is hosting two Community Benefit Agreement (CBA) Summits in regards to Rafi Properties’ Somernova project. The first, on Tuesday March 12, will be in person at the Argenziano School (290 Washington St, Somerville, MA. 02143) from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The second meeting will be virtual on Zoom on Saturday, March 16, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.

The small aluminum diner is at 113 Washington St. A deceased friend of mine lived next door and we met there for good eats. It was built in 1930 and is on the Somerville historical register. If you sit at the counter the seats are kind of low but work out well for me and my short legs! The decor is very vintage looking and welcoming. I asked my social media friends to share their comments about Buddy’s diner.
