Somerville Police are investigating a report of shots fired through a car window narrowing missing a man while moving his car early Monday morning. The incident happened near the playground on Marshall St. in Somerville. Bullets entered one window and exited the other, narrowly missing the man’s face.

Updates will be made available as more information is gathered.

Somerville Police break in log Dec 14 – Dec 20

Somerville Police Respond to Residential Breaking & Entering
 
On 12/20/21 at approximately 11:42 AM, Somerville Police responded to an apartment building on Central St for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting person who stated he received multiple notifications from tenants that someone broke into the vestibule of the building. Officers were informed a window on the front door had been smashed and multiple packages were rummaged through. Nothing was reported missing.

Cambridge Trust pledges $5,000 to support Little Necessities

Somerville-Cambridge Elder Services (SCES) is pleased to announce that Cambridge Trust has pledged to match the first $5,000 of donations for the Little Necessities program this holiday season.

Little Necessities is a locally funded program that gives SCES the flexibility to meet essential needs that are not covered by government programs; a new mattress after a bedbug infestation; a microwave for someone who can no longer cook due to memory loss; or a gift card to purchase emergency groceries are just a few examples of how Little Necessities provides help.

Somerville’s COVID-19 vaccine booster clinics (Moderna)

A COVID-19 vaccine booster clinic will be held January 5, 12, 19, and 26 from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m. at the City Hall Annex at 50 Evergreen Ave. The Moderna booster will be offered. Registration is required. Please register at tinyurl.com/SomervilleVax or call 311. The clinic is free, and open to all people 18 years or older, regardless of immigration status or health insurance. Identification is not required. Please bring your vaccine card with you to your appointment, and arrive at the time of your appointment to avoid overcrowding in the building.
