Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan, Somerville Chief of Police Charles Femino and Belmont Chief of Police James MacIsaac have confirmed that two people have been arraigned in connection with allegedly firing a gun multiple times at two victims who were seating inside a vehicle, at the Mystic Activity Center on Mystic Avenue in Somerville on February 20, 2022.

Somerville Police officers were dispatched to an Assembly Row location last Sunday on a check condition of a male party that may be asleep behind the wheel.
The party in question was located at the intersection of Middlesex Ave. and Mystic Ave. in a white cargo van, parked up against a support beam for signage to the highway. The vehicle was wedged against the pole and there was damage to the front of the vehicle.

Former Somerville Police Officer Michael McGrath yesterday admitted to sufficient facts in Cambridge District Court to the charge of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon in connection with deploying pepper spray on an individual who was in custody and who posed no threat to him.

101 South Street now home to four Flagship Pioneering-founded companies
Today, the development venture of DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners (DLJ), Leggat McCall Properties (LMP) and Deutsche Finance America (DFA) joined the City of Somerville and Flagship Pioneering companies to cut the opening ribbon on 101 South Street, the first purpose-built Class-A lab building in Somerville as part of the Boynton Yards 1.8 million square foot, mixed-use life sciences and cultural community.

Throughout the month of May, the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission (SHPC) partners with other local organizations to host events honoring Somerville’s history and historic assets. All events are open to the public, ADA accessible, and free.
May – October. Launch of Volunteer Docent Program. Three Historic Sites: Prospect Hill Tower, Milk Row Cemetery, and Old Powder House. Full season schedule on weekends and Thursday evenings is posted on the SHPC and City websites, and on banners outside each site.

A resolution was put forward at the latest regular meeting of the Somerville City Council requesting that the Directors of Infrastructure and Asset Management, Engineering, Public Works, and the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, along with any other appropriate departments, work to develop a binding, equitable, citywide Electrical Infrastructure Master Plan to guide the location and design of electrical substations and other infrastructure.

With the help of local nonprofits, artists, and residents, the SOS organization coordinates a series of candid gallery visits and art markets, enabling the general public to connect with the arts community in a highly authentic way.
