The Somerville Community Growing Center has finalized its community events for the fall season, which include music performances, yoga, a film screening and panel, garden workshops, and the annual events, The Gathering of the Fairies and Harvest Festival. The Somerville High School Track Parents and Alumni Club invites runners to participate in their “Somerville Monster Dash 2022,”Sunday, October 30, beginning at 11 a.m. at Assembly Row (Riverfront Park), Somerville.

Join us for the “Spook-tacular Inaugural Somerville Monster Dash 5K and kids’ fun run,” say the organizers.

City offices will be closed on Monday, October 10, for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Implementing codified space for art in new developments, mayor’s listening tour and artist survey continues city’s commitment to preserving vibrant arts scene in Somerville 

Mayor Katjana Ballantyne and the Somerville Arts Council are thrilled to share the latest city initiatives to protect existing artist studios and create new spaces for local artists.  

The Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers (MAPS) is marking this year’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM) in October by expanding outreach efforts in recently-arrived Portuguese-speaking immigrant communities throughout the state and collaborating with local organizations to increase awareness and offer information and resources about domestic violence.
