I have lived in Davis Square since 2011. Davis Square is filthy and the problem gets worse annually.

The Davis Square area is the home base for several unhoused people. I believe that if we appropriately incentivize a few of Davis’ unhoused population, we can clean-up Davis Square. If this experiment works, it could have ramifications beyond Davis Square.

Here we are staring down Labor Day weekend. In the old days we would go to our camper up in New Hampshire for the weekend. We would also rent a room at Old Orchard Beach which was a lot of fun. We did that for years. The kids grew out of spending all their time with their parents.

Former Red Sox stars to play fundraiser

Former Red Sox stars Lou Merloni and Jonathan Papelbon will play in the 30th annual Abbot Financial Management Oldtime Baseball Game on Thursday, August 22 at St. Peter’s Field in Cambridge. The pregame program begins at 7:00 p.m.

The game is being played as a fundraiser for The Boston Home, a non-profit residence and national resource for adults with advanced neurological disorders, primarily multiple sclerosis.

When my partner and I moved to Somerville back in September 2019, it was a deliberate choice. We were tired of the sky-high rents and the cold, impersonal vibe of Kendall Square. We wanted to be part of a real community – someplace where neighbors actually knew each other, where local shops were part of everyday life, and where we could feel truly connected. And Somerville gave us that. But fast forward a few years, and it feels like this community is under siege. Rising rents and the ever-climbing cost of living are pushing out not just families, but also artists, longtime residents, and small business owners—the very people who make this city special.

Girls can play ice hockey

It started with simply getting the right to vote, then, getting jobs, then, every aspect of life, which includes tweens and young teens in sports – and in Somerville, that means girls ice hockey.
