Howard E. Horton passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, September 5, 2023. He is 69 years of age.

Born on Wednesday, March 3, 1954 in New York, New York, Howard is the loving son of the late Samuel Horton and Vivienne (Eldridge) Horton. Howard is a warm, generous, and gentle son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend who will be deeply missed.

On 8/29/23 at approximately 12:14 p.m., Somerville Police responded to a residence on Laurel St. for report of an attempted breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated a male party opened his front door but then fled after hearing a dog.

City approves lease for Tufts Administration Building

Arts at the Armory closes in on 1,000 petition signatures goal

On August 15, 2023, the Center for Arts at the Armory (CAA) held an important hybrid in-person and virtual community (Zoom video recording available via the link below) during which the community expressed strong support for CAA and deep frustration with the City of Somerville’s fumbling of the Armory since acquiring it through eminent domain in May 2021. At the meeting, CAA presented its case for a petition which makes the points below.
