Harvest Festival: Gathering in Gratitude

Capture a little bit of the Somerville Community Growing Center’s  magic this Sunday, at their annual Harvest Festival. There will be harvest activities and games, pumpkin decorating and a celebration of the bounty nature shares throughout the year.  The festival will run from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., 22 Vinal Ave. All are welcome.

USQ proudly unveiled a public art mural by local artist Sophy Tuttle that weaves together history, art, and nature. The artwork adds intrigue to the Bennett Court façade of 10 Prospect Street USQ’s seven-story lab building, located at the corner of Prospect Street and Somerville Avenue in Union Square.

Somerville Police Crime Log Sept. 19 – 23

On 9/19/23 at approximately 8:00 a.m., Somerville Police responded to a residence on College Ave. for report of a past breaking and entering. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the reporting party who stated the home is being remodeled and multiple tools were stolen.

The color blue has existed for millennia, influencing great works of art as well as ordinary, but treasured, household objects. It carries many associations including calm, sadness, royalty, and peace. Even the many different words for the color blue evoke emotions–turquoise, indigo, cerulean, periwinkle, cobalt, aquamarine. It lives in our world all around us in the blue sky and ocean waves.
