Members of the Somerville Arts Council and Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone hosted a Town Meeting on the Arts April 6 at the Visiting Nurses Association building at 259 Lowell St.

“We’re here to serve the city, the arts constituency, the residents,” said Gregory Jenkins, the council’s executive director.

Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone and his wife Nancy have named their son Joseph Christopher Curtatone. The boy was born Monday afternoon.

 

Curtatone to make run for state senate seat

A member of attorney Maria C. Curtatone’s inner circle told The Somerville News that the former mayoral candidate is ready to formally announce her candidacy for the 2nd Middlesex District state senate seat left vacant by the passing of Charles E. Shannon Jr.

The source said Curtatone, sister to Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, confirmed her decision at a courtesy visit Monday to the breakfast crowd at Union Square’s Sunny’s Deli.

 

Curtatones welcome new baby boy

Today at 3:34 p.m., Nancy Curtatone, wife of Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, gave birth to a 6-pound, 12-ounce baby boy. The 20-inch boy and mother are resting comfortably at Melrose Wakefield Hospital. Through a spokesman, the mayor said he would not be taking paternity leave. No name has yet been chosen.
