Send your child on a newspaper scavenger hunt:

Vocabulary
Find and circle 26 words, each one beginning with a different letter
of the alphabet.
List the words in ABC (alphabetical) order.
Find and circle 5 unfamiliar words. Look each one up then use it in a sentence.
Math
Number ID – Find, name, and circle 20 different numbers.
Find and circle even numbered page numbers.
Addition – find 3 amounts of money that add as close to $100 as possible.
Multiplication – find an amount of money. Multiply it by 6.

Budget
Your child has $15. Find how many items in today’s newspaper can he/
she purchase?

Social Studies
Find a story about local government.

Science
Find today’s weather report.
Find one more science item in today’s paper.
