A Somerville man suspected of armed robbery attempted one last dash to freedom Friday as police detained him and waited for the alleged victim to identify him.

Spenser Bullock, 19, of 10 High St., took off running as a vehicle carrying the victim approached, police said. He allegedly ran from the bike path onto Winslow Avenue and into a yard where he scaled an eight foot fence.

Officers found him lying on the ground between two fences trying to hide, police said.

Bullock allegedly approached the victim at the intersection of Willow and Morrison Avenue and said, “I have a gun, give me your money, don’t make me pop this on you” as he gestured with his hand in his pocket.

The victim handed over $60 to $80, police said. The victim described the stick-up man to police as wearing a jacket with a Patriots logo and less than an hour later officers stopped Bullock, wearing a Patriots jacket, on the bike path.

The victim identified Bullock as the man who robbed him, police said.
