misguided
I want you to feel
like a hoof to a horse.
under this weight, I exist.
breath short,
justly cut by hoof to ground
travel with you, I will.
no choice of mine
to live crushed by you,
you have destroyed me.
but thankful I should be
I’m so sorry,
my thoughts readjust:
you carry me.
thank you.
the hoof lifts me,
I am guided by you.
you are the swaddle to my baby
I am the lamb to your herder.
the dirt under your hoof and I,
one and the same.
