The Somerville High School Highlanders won their first game of the season this past Friday with a final score of 27–15 vs. the Malden Golden Tornadoes.
Somerville started off slow, scoring no points in the first quarter, but came back in the second quarter to score 7 before the first half ended.
Somerville also added another two touchdowns in the third quarter and one more in the fourth. Malden chalked up two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, but the Highlanders pulled off with a victory.
The next game for Somerville is on Friday, September 27, at Glatz Field at Cronin Stadium in Danvers at 7:00 p.m. vs. St. John’s Prep, who is off to a 2–0 start to their season.
