The Somerville Foundation for Animals (501(c)3) announces the 10th Annual Somerville Dog Festival. The festival will be held at Trum Field on Sunday, September 8, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. Admission is free and donations are accepted for activities to support the fund. All well-mannered dogs on leash and current on their vaccinations are invited! Please be aware the bridge in Ball Square is under construction, so anyone driving in from the West should plan to reroute via Cedar Street. Parking is limited, so public transportation is encouraged.
The 10th Annual Somerville Dog Festival is a community-wide event to celebrate dogs and the families who love them. This year, the Somerville Foundation for Animals, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, is partnering with Mass Vet Referral Hospital to proudly host the festival with 100% of the proceeds benefitting local animal-related charities.
This year, on the 10th anniversary of the Somerville Dog Festival, we are excited to announce a new charitable endeavor that will benefit from the proceeds: the CARe (Community Animal Resources) Van, which will provide free veterinary care to homeless and at-risk family pets throughout the greater Boston area. The festival and its proceeds will help champion the combined mission of the Somerville Foundation for Animals and Mass Vet Referral Hospital to help pets in our community stay with the families who love them.
“DogFest 2019” will incorporate lively entertainment and educational opportunities for dog owners. Planned activities include a wide variety of dog sports, working dog demonstrations including a police K-9 unit and the popular Doggie Fun Zone. There will be dog-themed contests, food trucks and a special performance by the Fairy Tails Theater. For more information, check out our website at: somdogfest.org.
