Sand
I was sand to him
She was the ocean
I was something to for him to play with
Run his fingers through
Letting me fall through the cracks
Simply because I felt warm to him
Never wondering about what’s underneath
Building me into something beautiful
So she could come and knock me down
He wishes I was more of an ocean type
Something stronger
Something beautiful
But I was just sand
Something to be stepped on
Something to live beneath her
That’s why he played with me
