Police have arrested a Norwood man for an Oct. 10 stabbing on Central Street that left a 27-year-old Somerville man in critical condition for several days.
Robert Beatty, 39, was arrested and charged armed assault to murder after the victim identified him from a photo lineup, police said.
The victim had sent a text message to Beatty inviting him to his home, before the attack, police said.
Beatty allegedly stabbed the victim in the neck and shoulder during the attack. When a roommate tried to help the victim, Beatty kept her out of the room and told the victim, “You should die,” police said.
Beatty allegedly took something from the victim’s bedroom during the attack.
Beatty was arrested in Norwood on Friday afternoon after an “intense manhunt,” police said.
