Episodes begin taping January 2019 at WGBH Studios

For the sixth time, Somerville High School will compete on WGBH’s High School Quiz Show. Somerville High School will join 15 other academic teams from across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to compete on the tenth anniversary season.

The sixteen schools selected received the highest scores on an oral quiz at the Super Sunday qualifying event held earlier this month at WGBH’s studios.  These schools will compete in the next phase of the competition, when episodes are taped in January 2019. Also among the top 16 are last year’s defending champion, Andover High School and two-time defending champion Lexington High School.

“Ten years in, and High School Quiz Show is still going strong, celebrating the immense curiosity, teamwork and academic power of Massachusetts high schoolers” said host Billy Costa. “A well-deserved congratulations to our tenth season’s top sixteen teams. I know you’ll bring the heat at the tapings this winter!”

WGBH made the official announcement on the High School Quiz Show  Facebook page today. The complete list of schools that will compete for the state title are:
