Poetry Is
Poetry is a stranger that passes you with a smile
It is a rustic bookshop worn by dust and time
It is hearing the tune of a very specific song
It is a sky full of stars obscured by cloudy nightfall
Poetry is walking in a straight line then turning backwards
It is hesitating to be spontaneous and thinking, “why not?”
It is laughing at an inopportune moment,
And saying the wrong thing at the wrong time
Poetry is sitting in a field of flowers by yourself,
And wondering how you got there
