Somerville High graduate receives $1000 scholarship

2010 Somerville High-school graduate Amanda Martins received a one thousand dollar “Jim Goddard Memorial” scholarship check presented to her by the Somerville Lions Club.

Somerville Lions Club President Bill Tauro presided over the ceremony with a full banquet that was held at the Mount Vernon Restaurant function hall in Somerville Tuesday night .

The check is an annual scholarship program presented to Somerville High school students for an outstanding student entering the field of health care.

Amanda is a now a freshman at Umass Boston majoring in the biology field.
