Sometimes I’m just in the mood for a fantastic selection of wurst. In this case we’re talking Currywurst, kielbasa, bratwurst and knackwurst, all made in house along with the sauerkraut and mustard. So grab a couple of friends and head to the Biergarten at Bronwyn.
The beer selection is immense and covers Germany, Austria, Poland, Czech Republic and the U.S. The menu represents treats from Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, like spätzle, schnitzel and Sauerbraten and so on. There’s also a fantastic selection of wines and other beverages if you’re looking for more than beer.
This trip I opted for the foot-long bratwurst served with sauerkraut, mustard, and crispy fried potatoes, and the pierogi plate served with braised red cabbage and grilled pineapple. Both dishes were well balanced in flavor.
The bratwurst had a hint of caraway that paired perfectly with the Riesling sauerkraut and mustard. The pierogis were made from a flaky dough that was baked and filled with pork, potato and cabbage. It was a perfect ending to the day after walking around in the heat for an extended period of time. The ice cold Pilsner was an added bonus.
