A three-alarm fire broke out at a Tufts-owned 3-story home on Teele St. in Somerville on Saturday.

According to reports, sleeping students were awakened by a neighbor who spotted the blaze that appeared to have originated on the porch of the building.

The four occupants were safely evacuated and there were no reported injuries.

Firefighters from Somerville, Medford and Cambridge responded just before 4:00 p.m. and extinguished the fire within an hour. Extensive damage to the building was reported.

The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and a full investigation is under way.
