The Somerville Arts Council and Somerville Media Center present an ArtsUnion and Cinema Somerville Short Film Fest on Saturday, May 19 from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m. held in Union Square plaza or indoors at SMC (in case of inclement weather). Any further questions, please contact Erica Jones at ejones@scatvsomerville.org.
This year’s festival theme is Local Voices.
These are films driven by powerful stories, captivating subjects and important themes. These are films that portray a distinct viewpoint on our world, by filmmakers with a confident voice. Some examples of LOCAL VOICE are “voices of creativity, voices of change, voices of protest, voices of hopes and dreams, giving voice to the voiceless, etc.” The selection committee plans to screen several short films for the audience to enjoy.
