The Somerville Chamber of Commerce presented the 12th annual Business Town Hall meeting, Tuesday evening at the Rockwell in Davis Square.

In attendance were about 100 business officials and city personnel to hear Mayor Curtatone talk about the vision of the city and how it has become a leader in business growth over the past few years and is planning in the future to make Somerville a great place to live and work.

Various zoning issues were discussed and how he wants to move forward to get the new zoning approvals voted on by the Board of Alderman so that the goals of the city can be achieved.

The mayor talked about the proposed Green Line Extension and what it means to the growth of the city, and that it will now happen.

The plan is to move ahead with building new business and homes for the thousands who will need and want to live and work in the area.

The move to the inner city has become more and more prevalent and businesses want to be here to be a part of the community.

A brief question and answers segment followed the mayor’s statement on the city.

The overall reaction by everyone there was that the city and the administration was headed in the right direction.

Sorry I missed this. It’s always a good way to interact with the mayor and give/get input on important issues. There should be more of these throughout the year.
