The new bfresh grocery store opened its doors at Davis Square, 244 Elm St., Somerville, Mass., on Friday, February 24 at 9:00 a.m. Mayor Joseph Curtatone toured the store on Monday morning.
Open 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily, the new 11,000-square-foot store marks the third bfresh store to open in the Greater Boston area, creating approximately 90 full- and part-time jobs. The inaugural bfresh store opened in nearby Allston in September 2015; a second bfresh store opened in Brighton in August 2016.
bfresh says that it is focused on affordable fresh foods. The store offers more natural and organic options than a typical market, vegan and gluten-free options, and specialty foods. The “Little Kitchen” is a meal convenience destination, bringing quality, fresh options to busy urban shoppers, saving them time and money: grab-and-go, ready-to-eat and ready-to-heat items; and fresh meal components to make inspired meals in a snap at home.
“Shoppers want to keep things simple. They want fresh foods, right in their neighborhood, that they can afford. bfresh is all about meeting those needs,” said Coby Reinhardt, bfresh team coach. “No matter how you want to shop – like stocking up for the week, buying fresh for meals every day, or stopping in to grab the freshest quick bite in town – bfresh has got you covered.”
Foodies find smart values across the store every day: surprisingly low prices on produce and affordable items throughout the whole store. And while the emphasis is on fresh, healthy foods, bfresh offers thousands of popular name-brand items as well as affordable own- store brands to make the store a primary stop for neighborhood shoppers.
The company says that it is committed to a culture of awesome teammates who are passionate about great customer service every day. Interested candidates may visit www.bfresh.com.
