A 17-year-old Somerville man was arrested Friday night after a large house party on Broadway got out of control, police said.

When officers tried to break up the party at 594 Broadway, they were allegedly met with laughter and lewd remarks. Police tried to disperse the crowd of about 200 people for 25 minutes but the crowd was blocking the sidewalk and party goers stopped traffic by walking into the street, police said.

When an officer asked Stanley Norbert, of 302 McGrath Highway, to move he allegedly said, “This is a public sidewalk I ain’t moving no more.” He allegedly refused to move.

Norbert was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. The owner of the home at 594 Broadway was cited for violating the noise ordinance.
