On April 17, 2017 Amanda Crowe of Somerville, MA will run the 121st Boston Marathon® in support of Boston Children’s Hospital. As a member of Boston Children’s Miles for Miracles Team, runners have an extra incentive to cross the finish line: helping children and families who receive world-class care at Boston Children’s.
Crowe is currently a project manager for DELL EMC and is also an avid runner. This will be her third time running a marathon for charity in 2 years. She is honored and excited to be running for Boston Children’s Hospital, the #1 pediatric hospital in the country.
Every dollar donated goes directly to the hospital where the doctors, nurses and researchers continue to innovate and advance patient care, find cures and everyday strive to return the joy into a child’s life.
When asked why she wanted to get involved with Boston Children’s Hospital Crowe replied, “Running my first Boston Marathon on behalf of Boston Children’s Hospital is an honor. Boston Children’s Hospital provides excellent care for children and is ranked #1 nationally in over ten specialties. I am so excited to be fundraising for such an amazing organization where I have the opportunity to support them in helping children live longer and healthier lives.”
Miles for Miracles team members raise funds for Boston Children’s Hospital’s areas of greatest need: patient care; medical research; recruitment and training; and community health programs. Runners like Amanda Crowe meet their fundraising goal through sponsorships and personal donations from their families, friends, community, and co-workers. The program has raised more than $27 million for Boston Children’s Hospital since 1996.
