Mr. Emmanuel “Manny” J. Roche

December 23, 1924 – July 13, 2016

Mr. Emmanuel “Manny” J. Roche – 91, A resident  of Somerville and York Beach, Maine, passed away surrounded by his family at the Jeanne Jugan Residence.

Born in Torbay, Newfoundland; he was the son of the late Alice (Doyle) and John Roche. Manny was the beloved husband of the late Joan (Hickey) Roche and the devoted father of William Roche and his wife Jean of Somerville, Peter Roche and his wife Anita of York, ME, Maryann Cashman and her husband Walter, Charlene Greene and her husband Tom all of Stoneham, Charles Roche and his wife Cathy of Somerville, Joanne Passanisi and her husband Michael of Andover. Manny was also the cherished grandfather of 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was also the dear brother of Alfred Roche of Torbay, Newfoundland, Helen Frye of FL and the late Nicholas, Stanley, Peter, Patrick, Edward, Andrew, Elizabeth and Mary F. Roche and Paul Doyle.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated for Manny in the Chapel of the Jeanne Jugan Residence on Saturday, July 16, 2016.

Manny was retired from the Somerville Housing Authority and enjoyed time spent with family at York Beach in Maine. These past few years, he enjoyed living at the Jeanne Jugan residence and his family is grateful for the care and concern shown to their Dad & family; so they kindly ask in lieu of flowers, donations in his name be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 186 Highland Ave, Somerville, MA 02143.
