As part of the Winter Hill neighborhood planning process, neighborhood residents and business owners were invited to join the  City of Somerville’s Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development for the unveiling of the recent “tactical urbanism” strategies with Team Better Block.

In September and October, community members met to discuss their ideas for pop-up businesses, landscaping, parks, outdoor seating, art and entertainment. Using that feedback, Team Better Block with the help of City staff and Somerville residents brought the community-conceived ideas to reality on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 4 to 8 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 13, from noon to 4 p.m., at the corner of Broadway and Temple St., and in the parking lots between the Post Office and the future home of Winter Hill Brewery.
