A man whose truck was stolen in Everett, found it on Medford Street in Somerville and detained the alleged thief until police arrived on May 25, police said.
Michael Carroll, 30, of 13 Trenton St., Charlestown, allegedly stole the truck in Everett and drove past the owner, police said. The truck's owner tried to follow but lost the vehicle, police said.
The victim located the truck parked on Medford Street and waited for Carroll to return, police said. The two allegedly began to fight and police were called.
Inside a black pouch Carroll was carrying, police allegedly found black nylon pants, a flash light, two screwdrivers, a pair of pliers, a pair of white and blue construction gloves and several plastic trash bags.
He was arrested and charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and possession of burglarious instruments.
