A routine warrant arrest detail turned more difficult than expected for officers last Friday morning, as they were met with extreme resistance by the subject of their assignment, Gilman St. resident Cameron Bourque.
Officers arrived at Bourque’s home and was met by his mother, who let them inside and led them to his bedroom, where he was sleeping.
Bourque was awakened by the officers and allowed to get dressed before they placed him under arrest for a warrant charge of possession of a sawed-off shotgun.
After Bourque got dressed he was handcuffed and officers began to lead him outside to be transported for booking.
The officers reported that Bourque immediately began resisting being led outside and attempted to break free from them. At one point, Bourque reportedly dropped to the floor in an apparent attempt to keep from being taken away.
After considerable struggling, the officers managed to get Bourque inside the police transport vehicle.
Bourque reportedly spat on two of the officers through an opening in the vehicle’s rear door.
In addition to the warrant charge, Bourque was also charged with resisting arrest and two counts of assault and battery on a police officer.
