Police officers were dispatched to St. Patrick Women’s Shelter on Washington St. Sunday evening on reports of an unruly resident.

Upon arrival, the officers were met by a staffer who reportedly told them that an occasional resident of the facility, Anna Nikitenko, had gotten into a verbal argument with another resident and that because she would not be reasoned with the police were called. The staffer also said that Nikitenko had been recently banned from the facility for 72 hours because of her behavior towards the other residents.

The staffer also said that the woman Nikitenko was allegedly arguing with had separated herself from the fracas by going into her room.

The officers tried to speak with Nikitenko, but she reportedly behaved in a boisterous and hostile manner with them, even though most of the facility’s residents were already in bed.

Nikitenko was advised that a temporary ban was in effect and that she would have to leave the facility. The officers made suggestions for alternative shelter locations, but Nikitenko reportedly responded with resistance, hostility, and name-calling.

Nikitenko eventually went to her bed area and packed up her personal belongings, but once she appeared to be finished with the packing she reportedly stalled and continued to berate the officers and facility staffers.

Officers noted in their report that Nikitenko was so loud that several other residents were wakened from their sleep. According to reports, when asked to quiet down Nikitenko got even louder.

Nikitenko was subsequently placed under arrest, trespassing and disorderly conduct. Police reports indicate that she was extremely uncooperative during the booking process.
