Winter Hill Bank recently celebrated the opening of its new Loan Center at 337 Broadway, Somerville. The event was attended by city officials, business and civic group leaders, local developers, and residents. According to Sandra L. McGoldrick, President/CEO of Winter Hill Bank, the wide range of well-wishers represents the bank’s strong and across-the-board ties with Somerville.
“A critical part of the success of any community is the commitment of its local banks. Since our founding in 1906, Winter Hill Bank has accepted its responsibility to people from all walks of life in Somerville. Today, as we celebrate our new Loan Center, we usher in a modern era of community banking with a new sense of purpose and opportunity for our customers and to the community itself.”
Compared to just a decade ago, there have been dramatic changes in Somerville as the city is no longer just a neighbor of Boston and Cambridge. Somerville has carved out its own identity with increasing construction and development of business, shopping, and entertainment; as well as accessibility to healthcare, and the recent opening of the Assembly Orange Line subway. Vibrant people have moved to Somerville to be part of this resurgence while at the same time the families that
have lived here for generations remain at the core of Somerville’s heritage.
Ms. McGoldrick continued, “That’s the challenge Somerville now faces; to continue the dramatic growth while at the same time focusing on making Somerville remain a viable place to live for families who helped create the legacy that is Somerville. That’s where a strong local financial institution like Winter Hill Bank has to fill in the gaps, and our mission is to continue leading the way.”
Pauline M. D’Aurora, Executive Vice President/CLO of Winter Hill Bank added, “We have become the local go-to bank for loans to real estate investors and developers, especially conversions of two and three family houses into condominiums. We help residents realize their dream of homeownership, and we are very proud of our relationship with local charitable and civic groups, and of course city government itself.”
The new Loan Center is located at 337 Broadway, Somerville directly across the street from the bank’s corporate office. Lending officers and staff are available for both commercial and residential loan services and advice Monday through Friday, 8:30am until 4:00pm. No appointment is necessary.
