On Tuesday, all MBTA rail services (Subway, Trolley, and Commuter Rail) will be suspended all day while maintenance crews continue to clear snow and ice from tracks, the third rail and switches. Mechanical forces will continue to assess the damage done to subway cars, trolleys, locomotives and passenger coaches.
Bus service will be available on an extremely limited basis with various buses on snow routes Buses will run with delays due to traffic congestion and local street conditions.
PLEASE NOTE: Bus customers will not be able to make transfers at customary intermodal points due to the suspension of rail service. Customers need to be aware of this before starting their commutes.
The MBTA continues to encourage those who do not need to travel to avoid doing so and those who decide to use buses to stay updated on the latest service information, which can be found at the MBTA’s winter resource hub: mbta.com/winter. Customers are also urged to check T-Alerts regularly for updates or to join our 100,000 followers on Twitter @MBTA.
