Police were called to the McDonalds restaurant at Twin City Plaza last  Friday in response to complaints that an unwanted person was refusing to leave the establishment.

After police arrived, the manager of the restaurant told them that the person in question, James Killackey, 31, of Cambridge, appeared to be drunk and was bothering other customers inside the store.

As officers approached, Killackey reportedly assumed a defiant and confrontational stance, according to police reports.

The officers advised Killackey that the restaurant’s management wanted him to leave and that he needed to do so immediately. Killackey reportedly responded by thrusting his hands into his coat pockets and behaved in a manner that the officers interpreted as defiance of their request for him to leave. He further stated that no one had asked him to leave before, police said.

Killackey was asked to remove his hands from his pockets, for the officers’ safety, but he reportedly refused to do so.

At this point the officers proceeded to lead Killackey away forcibly, which he resisted. He reportedly struggled and argued with the officers, who eventually took him to the floor and handcuffed him.

Killackey reportedly had two cans of beer in the back pockets of his pants. He was eventually removed from the restaurant and placed under arrest for disorderly conduct and trespassing.
