Mount Vernon Restaurant, located at 14 Broadway in Somerville, has been a family owned business going on 80 years next April, a distinction that most restaurants only hope to achieve.
In a city of under 4 miles in area and with all the various new restaurants popping all over the city, Mount Vernon has to be considered the city’s best of the best.
Recently in the dining room of their restaurant The Somerville Times publisher Ross Blouin presented Brett Henry (left) and his father Martin Henry (center) three well earned “Best of Somerville 2014” certificates: Best Roast Beef Sandwich, Best Caterer and Best Variety and All Around Restaurant.
If you are new to the city the family and staff will welcome you with open arms. There is free parking in the rear.
Their famous lobster dinner will be the best you’ve ever had. Look for weekly and monthly specials advertised exclusively in The Times.
By the way, Brett says their Sunday brunch is the best. Everyone loves it so we are going to try it and let you know.
