Ah … love … loss and gain – and all that pain. Poet Julian Gallitano gives us his take on “the same old story.”
On Her
So I’m back doing exposures in downtown Boston
Trying to get a grip on my anxieties
“Enjoy city place”
The banner reads as I nibble on my cranberry orange scone from Starbucks
I wonder if this is my space
Where I’m suppose to be
As delusions of grandeur pass through my mind
My capacity for love undiminished and infinite
And so I think of her
And a potential relationship soiled
Oh the wonders she laid out before me…
So I find
To love is to want
To need
Yet I failed so miserably
And so, she moves on.
— Julian Gallitano
