The Wednesday, June 11 meeting of the Somerville Garden Club features three demonstrations with a horticultural/gardening theme. Join garden club members in a mini-workshop to write haiku capturing the beauty of the spring and summer garden, then enjoy a talk and slideshow about an art project pertaining to the flora of the Middlesex Fells Reservation. Next, participate in a hands-on demo on how to plant and maintain wildflowers. Participants will be able to plant seeds or seedlings in small containers to take home. The club meets 7-9 p.m., at the Tufts Administration Building, 167 Holland Street, Somerville.
Each Somerville Garden Club meeting opens with club announcements, followed by a horticultural question and answer session, then a lecture or demonstration, and concludes with a raffle of donated plants and garden items. Parking is available on site, and the building is a short walk from the Davis Square T station. Meetings are on the second floor, wheelchair accessible. All Somerville Garden Club meetings are free and the public is invited to attend. For additional information please visit www.somervillegardenclub.org.
