On April 7, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan invites local seniors to an important program about how seniors can better protect themselves from scams and abuse.

Seniors continue to be the target for scams, such as the “grandparent scam,” fake lottery prizes, and other ploys by criminals.  This program aims to give seniors the tools to identify a potential scam, protect themselves from becoming victims, and how to stay safe in their own homes.  The program also discusses safe banking practices and financial abuse.  Joining District Attorney Ryan in the presentation are Somerville Police, banking experts, members of the DA’s office Elder and Disabled Unit, and representatives from senior services programs who will outline what local resources are available to seniors.
