Somerville Residents Awarded for Excellence in Teaching

Somerville residents David Martin, assistant professor of computer sciences; and Nancy DeLuca, associate professor of chemistry at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, were recently honored as recipients of the College of Arts and Sciences/Science Division Teaching Excellence Award.

The Council on Teaching, Learning, and Research as Scholarship at UML held a reception to honor the recipients from various departments. The honored faculty and staff were introduced by their college dean and each received a certificate along with a cash award.

The University of Massachusetts Lowell, a comprehensive university with special expertise in applied science and technology, is committed to educating students for lifelong success and conducting research and outreach activities that sustain the economic, environmental, and social health of the region. UML offers its 12,000 undergraduate and graduate students more than 80 degree programs in the colleges of Arts and Sciences, Engineering and Management, and the School of Health and Environment and the Graduate School of Education.
