Mite_ice_cats_4 Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone joined Ward 1 Alderman William Roche and the entire Board of Aldermen Thursday night in congratulating the Somerville Youth Hockey Mite II Ice Cats for winning the 6th Annual Spartan Tournament which took place at the Stoneham Arena in April.

As members of the youngest division in the Somerville Youth Hockey program — with ages ranging from just 5 to 8 years of age — the team managed to remain undefeated despite a series of tough match-ups with Melrose, Reading, and Stoneham, among others.

Sponsored by salary.com, the Mite II Ice Cats were proud to win the championship and bring the gold home to Somerville.
