Boston will celebrate a week long full of festivities in Boston’s historic North End June 6-12, the weeklong activities will commemorate the vitality, diversity and passion of an ancient culture.
The festivities, are organized and produced by “Le Associazioni Italo-Americane del New England”, an organization comprised of the many Italian American groups based in New England in collaboration with COMITES. Among the many events featured, “La Piazza” a re-creation of an Italian piazza will include all day entertainment, Italian Carabinieri in high uniform and young ladies in renaissance period costumes. Salutations by City and State dignitaries will commence the ceremonies.

Other activities in “La Piazza” include:
• “Il Mercatino” – Display tables of handcrafted objects and artifacts, as well as books and packaged food representative of the various regions of Italy
• “Il Giardinetto” – divided in two: an area where older Italian gentlemen will play “Scopa”, “Briscola” & “Tombola”. Children’s area, where there will be many activities: story-telling of Pinocchio, written by Collodi, children’s theater character: life size Arlecchino & Colombina wooden cut-outs, with empty faces for the children to take photographs of themselves, and painting of masks, which children can take home with them.
• “Il Caffe`” – Italian Café serving Espresso Coffee free to the public
• “Il Palco” – The stage and seating, where Italian music will be played, sung and performed all day: pop, modern, and classical.
