Board of Alderman President Bruce M. Desmond will meet today with City Solicitor John Gannon to discuss the city’s next step in the case of former police officer Alessandro Capobianco.

Desmond will act at the city’s chief executive, in the place of Mayor Joseph A. Curtatone, who recused himself because he is Capobianco’s cousin.

The city has ten days to appeal the decision of the state’s Civil Service Commisstion to re-instate Capobianco to the city’s police force, in effect reversing his termination by then mayor Dorothy A. Kelly Gay.
