It was an especially stunning week for the Somerville Alibrandis baseball team, which played its 700th regular season game in franchise history, while racking up four more wins to improve its Yawkey League leading record to 18-2.

“It’s good to get four wins, that’s for sure,” Alibrandis assistant coach Cam Lynch said. “The bats were going, and the pitching was outstanding as usual. Pitching is our core. Our team ERA is 1.31.”

The most brilliant outing of the week belonged to pitcher Lamarre Rey, who took a no-hitter into the seventh inning against the host Boston Dodgers, before it was broken up by Zach Dubin. Rey, though, got the complete game shutout in a 7-0 win for Alibrandis.  Rey allowed only one hit. He struck out eight and walked four.

Offensively, Ted Dziuba, Steve Rogers, and Justin Crisafulli all had multi-hit games. Dziuba and Crisafulli each drove in two runs. Dziuba went 2-for-3, while Rogers and Crisafulli each had two hits in four tries.

Meanwhile, the pitching for Alibrandis proved to be a strong point all week. Chris Foundas threw five solid innings to chalk up a 7-2 win over the host Malden Bulldogs. Foundas gave up seven hits, while striking out a whopping 10 batters and walking two.  Brian Tanguy tossed scoreless ball in the sixth and seventh frames.

The offense was again on fire. Bob Barrett had three RBIs and Mike Cunningham came up with a key two-run single in a four-run fourth inning that helped Alibrandis overcome a 2-0 deficit.  Barrett finished the night 2-for-4, while Logan Gillis went 1-for-3 with a run scored.

Jon Morse also tossed stellar ball in a 6-2 win over the Medford Maddogs at Trum Field. Morse threw six innings, allowing two runs on four hits. He struck out six and walked one. Tanguy finished it in the seventh with two strikeouts.

At the plate, Dziuba and Rogers each hit line drive inside-the-park home runs down the right field line in the third inning.  Dziuba’s homer was a two-run job. He finished with three RBIs, while Rogers drove in two on the night.

“They were hit in the same spot,” Lynch said of the two homers. “The grass was cut pretty well and the ball kept rolling.”

Playing its 700th game in franchise history, Alibrandis finished the week in style with a sound 6-0 victory over the Brighton Minutemen at Trum Field.

Sean Sullivan pitched six innings, while allowing six hits. He struck out six and walked one.  Matt Lounsbury tossed a scoreless seventh inning.

Offensively, Crisafulli belted a two-run homer over the fence in left in the fourth. Gillis also went yard to left in the fifth.

Also contributing were Mark Addesa, who ripped a two-run single, Cunningham, who had an RBI double, and  Mark Annese, who drove in a run with a sacrifice to left, scoring Addesa.

Alibrandis was scheduled to play four games this week. The Somerville team was slated to host Malden on Monday, the South End Astros on Wednesday, and the Savin Hill Hornets on Friday. Alibrandis was to be the visitors on Tuesday against West Roxbury, but the game was scheduled to be played at Trum Field.
