The brainchild of Mayor Joe Curtatone, who played trumpet in the Somerville High School Jazz Band, Joe’s Jazz and Blues Festival is back this year. Starting up the week, the festival make its way through local music venues. Check out the four dates and clubs below. Then on June 22 join us an all-day free concert at Powderhouse Park from noon to 6 p.m.
The Somerville High School Jazz Ensemble will kick off the concert at noon, getting the crowd going. From then on, there will be non-stop music – from jazz to delta blues – until 6 p.m. The lineup includes Darrell Nulish, the Brett Walberg Group and the Fringe.
