A group of friends had been sharing a marijuana cigarette while they were waiting for a taxi near the corner of New Road and Mystic Avenue, according to one of the victims in a weekend stabbing.
A woman came running through the parking lot of Good Times, screaming about a stabbing. It was 1:17 a.m. on Saturday. Just down the road a purse snatching had gotten a little out of hand. And one woman would need to be transported to the hospital.
According to police, the woman was treated for her injuries and is expected to be all right.
When the group of guys approached the woman and her friends waiting for a cab, they were asked if they cared to puff on the joint, according to statements in the police report.
But the three men wearing long sleeve shirts and jeans weren‚Äôt looking to get high. They wanted the woman‚Äôs purse. The man with the joint began fighting with one of the suspects. While that was going on another one of the suspects pulled out a knife and rammed it through the woman. He grabbed her purse, and the three men took off running. They piled into a four-door sedan where two black males were waiting inside the getaway car. The vehicle took off, and the suspects remain at large.
