Mayor Joseph Curtatone kicked off the Older American’s Month Celebration with a Council on Aging luncheon at the Winter Hill Yacht Club by hosting a ResiStat meeting for over eighty seniors.
The seniors enjoyed a catered lunch, some dinner music, as well as a very informative meeting with the Mayor about the city’s Residence and Statistics program.
The mayor spoke to seniors at the packed meeting hall on Wednesday  morning regarding  preventive maintenance for streets and sidewalks.
Along with Mayor Curtatone, Ward 2  Alderman Maryann Heuston, Ward 5 Alderman Courtney O’Keefe and Ward 4 Alderman Tony Lafuente also addressed the crowd with updates and awareness.
A new resident to Somerville at the meeting spoke out praising the city’s  311 program. She spoke on how accessible and polite the people on the other end of the phone always are to her when she calls them to inquire on questions regarding her concerns.
