The Somerville Chamber of Commerce hosted its 66th Annual Dinner at the Holiday Inn this past Wednesday, November 7.
An estimated 200 local business and civic community leaders gathered together to celebrate the Chamber’s annual dinner.
The scheduled speaker, Massachusetts State Treasurer Steve Grossman, was unable to attend so our own Mayor Joe Curtatone filled in as the Keynote Speaker, he gave an excellent and positive talk on Somerville now and in the near future. He spoke about all the new things that will be happening from Assembly Square to Union Square, the Green line extension and the new look of Union Square in the next few years.
The chamber also had their annual Powderhouse Awards presented to many here locally for various accomplishments. Also, the long time Chair Ron Bonney retired and handed the gavel over to the Chamber’s newly elected Chair Rebecca Schrumm.
