Don‚Äôt forget the parade this Sunday here in Somerville, Frank Senesi has worked very hard again this year‚Ķkickoff time is 1pm from City Hall‚Ķthis year is supposed to be the largest one yet.  When Frank goes by give him a big hand for his efforts, as he travels down Highland Avenue up to Teele Square.

What’s happening with the badly needed restoration of the Prospect Hill Tower Рwhere they can’t even raise the big flag anymore in fear that it will blow the building over?

Look for a brand new ‚ÄúDIESEL CAF√â‚Äù in Union Square…Their Davis Square location continues to be the best in Davis Square, probably the best in the city, period.  The attraction of the place and product they have is very popular.  Now if they could only chase away to that other place in Davis the folks who don‚Äôt buy anything and spend all day on their computers using the Cafe as their private office, that other place in Davis never has anyone in it.

Our sympathy goes out to the entire Tauro family – in particular, Walter and his children on the recent passing of his wife Carla, we extend our sincerest condolences.

Well the difference in the recent special election is going to clearly mean it will be more quieter this fall‚Ķso far only Joe Lynch and Fred Berman have taken out papers (other than incumbents) and the deadline is June 25.  We still hear a potential candidate against Rebekah in Ward 6 and we‚Äôre getting maybes from local attorney Steve Glines in Ward 4.  We predict no major race for mayor this year ‚Äì things have pretty much quieted down in the city since Marty lost.

Can anyone answer why the prices vary amongst the various Dunkin Donuts‚Äô in the city?  So far the cheapest and easiest DD to get a coffee at is in Magoun Square, but it‚Äôs still a mystery as to why the variation in pricing.  Same goes for the two Winter Hill Stores, both owned by the same guy, and the different prices for various stuff ‚Äì we are just thinking out loud.

Congrats to Dave Lebahn ‚Äì one of the 12 males with 1200 females at the newly co-ed Regis College.  Dave got through his first semester with a 3.5 average and will go on to full time nursing school in the fall…Visit him at Border‚Äôs at the Galleria Mall during the summer.

Not so ‚ÄúYUMMY HUT‚Äù – their services and food get worse ‚Äì a recent trip from some of our Newstalkers tells us you couldn‚Äôt tell the difference between the General Gao‚Äôs Chicken and the Orange Chicken and the oranges were burnt to a crisp…And as usual no matter how many times one asks for duck sauce, they don‚Äôt put it in the bag, despite their prices going higher and higher – any suggestions where to go where they might actually give you what you ask for?

This past week the Somerville Police Honor Guard traveled to the Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington DC.  Once in our nations capital, the team paid tribute to fallen police officers, past and present.  They also got a chance to pop in on and present a Somerville Police shirt bearing an official badge labeled #1 to former Somerville Mayor turned Congressman, Michael Capuano.  The presentation was a gift to show their appreciation for the Congressman‚Äôs continuous support!  Most of the travel accommodations were sponsored and paid for by the Target Corporation, which was very nice.

ElGuapo’s is gone and a new place is going in at Ball Square location and the front of the building now looks like a drive through with the garage door on the front – we were wondering if they’re going to have drive-through service!

Congratulations to Carmen Marzan Rosario of Somerville, who is the eighth lucky player to claim a $1 Million dollar prize in the Lottery‚Äôs Green and Gold instant game.  Rosario, along with her husband Pedro, arrived in Braintree to collect the first of 20 annuity payments of $50K – of course minus taxes.  Somerville residents and or employees have been pretty lucky this year in winning.
