Seeking serious vocalists for a singing competition starting May 10 at Arts at the Armory

Arts at the Armory and Gordon Michaels are proud to present the 2012 Reaching for the Stars competition!

This high-intensity, serious performance series will take place over 4 weeks of auditions (25 contestants per week) and will be followed by semi-finals (12 participants) and finals (6 participants).

Contestants will be judged in 4 categories and will have 90 seconds to perform an acapella number.

A total of 12 voices will move on to the semi- finals.

Six amazing contestants will be selected for the finals, to be performed in the gorgeous Performance Hall at Arts at the Armory.

Three winners will be selected, with the first place winner receiving $500.00 and a two song demo recording at Q Division. The winner of the competition will also have the chance to perform a one hour concert at the Arts at the Armory Cafe.

The second prize winner will receive $100.00 and two free 45 minute voice lessons with Gordon Michaels.

Third prize will receive a gift certificate to the delicious Arts at the Armory Cafe.

There will be a panel of three judges for this competition – Have you heard of Gordon Michaels, Jimmy Del Ponte and Holli Banks? Well get ready for them to judge you!
