Somerville Police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Central Street in Somerville early Saturday morning at around 2:30 a.m.

Reportedly, a Boston man was shot while he was walking on Central Street between Vernon and Medford Streets. He sustained a wound from a single shot fired from a passing car.

The man was transported to a nearby hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.

State Police Crime Scene services are reportedly assisting Somerville Detectives in the investigation, and Police have increased patrols of both marked and unmarked cruisers and Neighborhood Police Officers.
