Considering the stormy weather conditions, it didn’t deter the incredible turn out of over 200 supporters who demonstrated an amazing show of support for South Middlesex Candidate for Registry of Deeds Maria Curtatone.
Curtatone, who held her kickoff campaign event Wednesday evening at Brunello’s Bistro in Somerville, was surrounded by supporters who arrived from all forty-four cities and towns ready to hit the ground running to support their candidate.
Former Somerville Mayor Dorothy Kelly Gay and her husband Bertram joined in the support and endorsed Curtatone as the next registrar.
Also in attendance at the event was Massachusetts State Representative Carl Sciortino who showed his support for Maria as well.
In her speech Curtatone said that she is “a highly qualified candidate and the right person for the job of the Middlesex South Register of Deeds. I am committed to effectively serving the public and serving you as your Register of Deeds. I am seeking your endorsement and humbly ask for your vote.”
The Middlesex South Registry of Deeds is the recording office for documents affecting title to real estate located in the southern district of Middlesex County. Documents that are in compliance with Massachusetts law are accepted for recording at the Registry and become permanent public records. The recording of documents, such as deeds and mortgages, allows the public, including prospective purchasers of real estate, a method to determine the status of the title to that property.
The South Middlesex Registry District includes the following cities and towns:
